Dear Friends,
Happy and Healthy New Year to all of you! I hope your holidays were wonderful and that you were able to spend time with family and dear friends.
As we start a new year, there is much to be grateful for. Our work continues because of all of you — none of it would be possible without your support and that of our Board of Directors and Board of Advisors, as well as our music therapy team and committed volunteers. We have seen tragic increases in domestic violence with the onset of the pandemic. Our work is more important than ever.
We are so grateful to be back to the new “normal” in schools with our “Beyond Trauma: Youth Music Therapy-Andie Koplik Residency in Music Therapy” programs. Our students are so glad to be back in-person, and their stories are already telling us how important our programs are to them and their ability to process their emotions and engage in their educational programs.
With renewed vigor and energy, we look forward to an incredible year! There are two exciting events planned at Mohegan Sun in the months ahead and much more to come on this in our next newsletter!
With love and gratitude,
Jackie Smaga
